WE HAVE A NEW DATE!
💞 Love Fest is back 💞
Saturday, March 21, 5-7PM
230 Elm Street, Southampton
Secure your tickets at the link in our bio. We can`t wait to see you there! 🥰
If you’re new here, welcome! We wanted to take a moment to explain what we do.
Hamptons Community Outreach works with people who are struggling to survive in one of the most expensive places in the country. Our clients are working families, children, seniors, and men living outdoors — people whose needs are often hidden behind the image of the Hamptons.
We focus on meeting basic, urgent needs: food, safe housing, crisis care, and support for children.
We also change life trajectories by offering cars, college counseling, job training and more.
Thank you to all of our followers, donors, volunteers, and supporters! We appreciate you being here!
We have a lot of new followers.
If you’re new here - welcome!
This is the work we do every day.
Thank you to @27east / The Southampton Press and reporter Cailin Riley for telling this story and help shine a light on a reality that’s often ignored in the Hamptons.
We really appreciate the coverage and everyone’s support.
We help families when food runs out.
We repair homes that aren’t safe to live in.
We step in during emergencies—before a crisis becomes permanent.
This is the work. Every week. All year.
Last week, our founder Marit Molin was the guest speaker at the Southampton Lion’s club meeting. They were our first donor back in 2018 when we were a summer camp. And they have supported us every year since then!
Thank you so much for believing in us!
We are thankful for your support!
Thank you so much to the Ross School Community Service Commitee for collecting warm clothing for homeless people in the Hamptons. Your kindness and support are going to make many of our neighbors in need feel warm and cared for. We deeply appreciate your support!
Yesterday, a woman with advanced stage cancer reached out. She was snowed in & was almost out of oil & could not get a fuel delivery because of the snow. Jonathan & crew from legardenlandscaping showed up to help!
We received this message from the woman who was helped.
“I can’t even express how deeply grateful I am to you and these amazing guys who came to dig me out - it was very frightening to be snowed in like this, especially with my cancer and living alone. I was able to get to my doctors’s appointment yesterday. And now I will also be able to get oil for my heat. Thank you so much!”
Thank you legardenlandscaping for being such good neighbors!🙏
Love Fest 2026 is just over a week away!! 💕
We still have some tickets left! Link in bio to purchase 🎟️
Please join us for our 3rd annual Love Fest fundraiser!
This Valentine’s Day themed event will include a fun night of music, food, and drinks, as well as an impactful presentation about the work that we have been doing. All funds raised will go directly towards families who are struggling and will enable us to continue serving underserved families in the Hamptons.
Since 2021 HCO has renovated/repaired 70 houses and built 4 new houses for families in need and we are working on four more!
What some people don’t know is with the seasonality of work and the high cost of living in the Hamptons, people struggle to find a place to live in the off season. This is why we find people living in the woods. Today we started canvassing the woods early and got people out of the snow and into a nearby motel where they got to have a warm shower, meal, and bed. Thank you to our donors for caring about the “other” Hamptons and the people the world often forgets. None of this happens without you. #hamptonscommunityoutreach
We are getting people out of the woods and into a motel. Please help if you can!

When temperatures drop, we step in to get people indoors as quickly as possible. Motel rooms are temporary. They don’t fix the housing crisis. But in freezing weather, they can prevent serious harm.

Last week, Hamptons Pony showed up for people living without shelter on the East End.
They fundraised, packed, and delivered 40 backpacks filled with essentials:
snacks, gloves, hats, hand warmers, hygiene supplies, first aid kits, and blankets.
Then they drove throughout the Hamptons to deliver them directly to people who needed them.
We’re grateful to Hamptons Pony for the time, effort, and care they put into this work — and for choosing to act when it mattered.
As we look to the year ahead, one thing is clear: the need will still be here.
Families will continue to struggle with food insecurity, unsafe housing, and the rising cost of living in one of the most expensive places in the country.
Next year, we’ll keep meeting people where they are — not with quick fixes, but with consistent support and real help when it matters most.
Thank you for standing with our neighbors last year.
We’re heading into 2026 ready to keep showing up.
Can you help? We have a food packing event this Tuesday. If you have extra @freshdirect bags, please deliver to:
📍 514 N. Main St., Southampton
or DM us for more info
We were recently featured in the @EastHamptonStar.
This story shows what a lot of people don’t see.
Yes, the Hamptons is wealthy.
And yes, many people here are still struggling, working every day, sleeping outside, trying to get through.
This is why we do this work.
It doesn’t fix everything.
But it helps people get through today.
Thank you to the East Hampton Star for helping make this work more visible.
This year, more than 200 kids in our community wrote letters to Santa.
Because of you, every one of those letters was adopted.
You also donated gift cards for teenagers — a group that’s often overlooked, but deeply in need.
These gifts don’t erase the challenges families are facing. Many are still struggling to afford food, housing, and basic necessities.
But this support mattered. And it showed up when it counted.
Thank you to all our donors who adopted letters, donated to gift cards, or donated funds. From all of us at HCO — thank you 🎅 🤶 ❄️ 🎁
Things we didn’t expect this year — holiday edition:
• How many people reached out for help for the first time
• How quickly a small setback became a serious problem
• How many people are working and still can’t cover basic needs
• How much uncertainty this season added for families already stretched thin
What we were reminded of:
• Small, timely help can prevent things from getting worse
• Being responsive matters
• Even short-term support can stabilize a hard moment
These aren’t transformation stories.
They’re ongoing situations.
And this work doesn’t stop when the holidays end.
Our volunteers packed and delivered food to our neighbors in need this morning, spreading some holiday love and support! Thank you to our donors and volunteers who enable us to help those in need over the holidays ❤️🙌🏻
Looking for restaurants that can donate food and for donors that can help us take care of the homeless over the holidays.

Thank you!
For many families, the holidays are extremely difficult. More expenses, less work, not enough support.
This work is about basics.
Food. Warmth. Getting through the week.
Thank you for helping make that possible.
With snow on the ground and temperatures at 22 degrees, living outside is dangerous.
We’ve placed our homeless friends in motels to protect them from the cold and we will continue to do so during freezing nights throughout the winter.
For the cost of $150, you can help provide a night in a warm motel room for 3 neighbors and keep them safe.
Thank you for caring!🙏
A local single parent and her 8-year-old were living in a moldy rental.
HCO built a safe and healthy home for them. Thank you to our donors who made this possible!
These front steps were shaky and unstable. Now they’re safe again. It doesn’t solve everything this family is dealing with, but it takes one worry off their list. We’re grateful to everyone who makes repairs like this possible.
December is a busy month in the Hamptons — lights go up, houses fill, and celebrations start.
But the need here doesn’t slow down. Many of our neighbors are heading into winter without safe housing, reliable heat, or anywhere warm to go.
We’ll be out in the community all month making sure people have what they need to get through the colder weeks ahead. If you’re able to help, the link in our bio is the easiest way to support that work.
A grandmother in a multigenerational household recently had a fall and hasn’t been able to work. Their SNAP benefits also didn’t come in, and things got tight fast.
They reached out and asked if we could help with food. Because of the donations we’ve received, we were able to get groceries to the family.
If you want to help with food support, you can donate through the link in our bio or DM us to sign up to shop for a family in need.
We want to thank Hamptons United Methodist Church for their generous donation! They always show up when our community is struggling.
Thank you for being such a strong partner to the families we serve! 🙏
Cold weather makes an already hard situation even harder. Many of our unhoused neighbors try to warm up anywhere they can — places like Panera or McDonald’s where they can sit for a bit and get something to eat.
Because of your support, we were able to give out 12 gift cards to people who are struggling right now. Thank you for caring about the people who are too often unseen.
It’s Giving Tuesday, and the need doesn’t slow down in the Hamptons.
We’re hearing from families who lost hours at work, missed SNAP benefits, or are living in homes they can’t safely heat. None of this pauses for the holidays.
If you’re able to give today, your support helps us keep families fed, warm, and steady during a really difficult season.
Donate at the link in our bio.
Grateful for a community that shows up! Thank you so much for your food and financial donations that enabled us to feed our neighbors in need!🙏
Thank you so much to Eric and Sharone Komoroff and Sean Naughton, owners of @BarryvilleGeneral for your donation of 7 truck loads of food! Your neighbors in need have received your food and are so enormously grateful!
Save the date for our 3rd Annual HCO Love Fest! Saturday, February 7 from 5–7PM. 230 Elm Street, Southampton. Tickets are available at the link in our bio. Please come and help support our struggling neighbors!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR CORPORATE SPONSORS!

REPOST: Ironically, it all started with the Girl Scouts. When Marit Molin couldn’t find a scout troop for her daughter on the east end, she started her own. Now, many years later, she is the ultimate girl scout. Marit’s organization is called Hamptons Community Outreach. Their mission is simple. If someone in our community needs something, Marit and her team find a way to fill the need. Sometimes it’s fixing a roof, or a floor, or a heating system. Sometimes it’s finding housing to begin with. It’s always about providing food— her operation handles 20 tons of food at a time and distributes it to those who need it. More and more, it’s helping young people get the resources they need to succeed in school— things like tutoring, supplies, college counseling and the like. It’s shocking to many of us how much need there is in this community, particularly with the backdrop of so much abundance and even excess. But the need is there, and Marit, her organization and their volunteers, are there to help bridge the gap. Her story is amazing, but what she manages to do, and how much she and her group provide is nothing short of fascinating. So tune in and hear her story of starting a girl scout troop, and becoming a grown up girl scout gone nuclear
We provide college counseling to high school students in need. This is one way in which we change life trajectories.
Last week a local 17 year old boy met with a college counselor for the first time. His mom checked in to say how relieved they are to have the support and that her son is so excited about going to college!
The sudden SNAP outage left many local families without a way to buy food.
Thanks to our donors, we were able to purchase 400 @stopandshop gift cards to help our neighbors.
Thank you again to our donors for allowing us to respond to the need so quickly!
A reminder that kids feel the weight of affordability, too.
When all your friends have something and you’ve only ever had hand-me-downs, asking for help takes courage. No child should feel left out because of cost — and no family should have to stretch their budget for basic winter gear. 💙
DM us to help.
